Nestled within the industrial heart of SE Calgary, the Oxypro Project marks a significant step forward in sustainable commercial energy usage. Completed in the chilly winter of 2020, this pioneering initiative has successfully integrated solar power into the operational framework of Oxygen Products, a leading welding supply store known for its high-quality machines, tools, and compressed gases, with strategic locations in Calgary, Red Deer, and Edmonton.
Harnessing the power of 130 high-efficiency Solar Electric PV panels, totaling 45 Kilowatts, installed by our esteemed partners at "Greenlight Power," the project employs 320Watt PV Panels alongside a Fronius Grid-Tied string inverter. This bespoke energy solution was developed after a thorough analysis of the client's utility usage, enabling a design that aims to achieve NetZero energy consumption.
The installation not only provides substantial energy credits during summer but also significantly offsets winter energy costs. This strategic energy production and consumption balance ensures that Oxygen Products benefits from reduced electricity expenses, with an anticipated return on investment in under eight years. The system, guaranteed by a 25-year warranty, stands as a testament to the long-term commitment to renewable energy and its positive impact on operational sustainability.
Building on the success in Calgary, plans are already underway for an ambitious expansion at Oxygen Products' large commercial building in Edmonton. This next phase will see the installation of approximately 1,000 solar panels, covering the rooftop to deliver a staggering system size of 500 Kilowatts or a half megawatt of renewable energy. This initiative underscores a significant leap towards greening the industrial sector and setting new standards for energy efficiency in commercial operations.
The collaboration with Greenlight Power was instrumental in the design, engineering, and installation phases of the Calgary project, highlighting the power of partnership in driving renewable energy solutions forward. As we look towards the Edmonton expansion, this project serves as a beacon of innovation, demonstrating the potential of solar energy in powering the future of industry and commerce.
The Oxypro Project not only showcases the viability of solar power in reducing operational costs and carbon footprints but also positions Oxygen Products at the forefront of environmental stewardship within the industrial sector.
